Seeking a Danbury Whalers Model

Today at the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, Connecticut, Danbury Whalers CEO / Managing General Partner, Herm Sorcher announced that the organization is holding an open competition to select an official Danbury Whalers model. 

The selected person will be featured in a variety of capacities including the team website, online merchandise catalog, roadside billboards, the game-day program, in game promotional operations, and community relations. The Danbury Whalers Model will receive a $500 contract from the team.

The selection process will begin next month at the May Danbury Whalers Fan Caravan event. At the function, there will be a qualifying competition. The winner of the May and each successive monthly event will be invited to the Danbury Whalers Model Final Competition on Opening Night in October. There will be a minimum of six semi-finalists.

The competition is open to male and female contestants over 18 years of age. Judging will be based the following categories – a passion & love for the Danbury Whalers, a great look in green, and a winning smile.

At each qualifying event, contestants will walk in front of the judges and fans and will be asked “What would you do if you were selected as the Danbury Whalers Model?” The qualifying winners will be selected by a combination of the judges and crowd response. The final round competition will be a fan vote.

Details on the next Danbury Whalers Fan Caravan event will be announced on Monday, May 3rd.
